Im pretty excited to share a company today that Im genuinely fascinated by their work, their thinking and how they have modernized something that has been overlooked by everyone.
The company is called Monumental Labs, they specialise in productizing sculptures. You know those amazing ancient Roman and Greek building sculptures of gods, animals and immortals that look so wow. People travel form all parts of the world to look at buildings that have these in popular tourists locations.
I really enjoy looking at these when travelling and it makes me think back to those times when it would of been built by some extremely skilled and committed dudes hanging off the side of the building with just a rope and no safety harnesses of other life saving equipment. Mind-blowing when you look at what they had available compared to today.

Buildings like the below image are everywhere in the uNited states, In Europe and United Kingdom. They are rich in history and make a statement when you look at them.
Imagine these designs built in today’s modern world with the help of AI and with the help of robotics workers that are programmed to build to a pre-programmed model design and can design to the micro milli meter (Made up word). The results are wow.
They start with a plan and work from a block of material to craft the model using AI powered sculpting robots. The below is a halfway shot of a sculpture of a bust.
They work towards a likeness of the original image model. As you can see below this bust has a very close likeness to a former US president. The detail is amazing.
I’ve travelled a lot and seen thousands of sculptured building exteriors and I really enjoy the art, the skill to make them and the facts that back in the day the builders had very little to make the designs, and now we can do the same work in a quarter of the time and in a more controlled environment.
Im really enjoying following this company and am excited by the work that they are doing and how they can enhance neighbourhoods with their work. If they pick up more and more clients the world will be better for it.
Common Sense Sculpture Partnership
A question remains for me about if Monumental Labs SHOULD partner with the NBA and sports leagues for official statues of legends that the leagues want to immortalise like most recently Dwayne Wade. If the Monumental Labs team did this the replica of D.Wade would actually look like him.
