There’s a process to crafting a great resume that sets you apart. Its the little things that give the reviewer a certain feel about your application over other people. I’ve seen thousands of resumes and I can count on two hands the number of good resumes I have seen.

โŒ Avoid passive language, it should be active
โŒ Narrative style; resume language should be articulate rather than “flowery”

Crafting a winning resume does take a lot of time. And there are a lot of principles and dos and don’ts to keep in mind.

Bonus: If you are saying you have done things or learned things on you resume, you should be adding them to your Linkedin profile. The reviewer will check ou out on Linkedin and I would dare say that they stalk you on other social platforms, especially for bigger roles. Use common sense with what you post, how you post it and what the public can see about you.

If you want instant improvements try Chat GPT or a resume software like Kickresume.
Kickresume comes with a template library of proven winning resumes with candidates joining the likes of Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Netflix and many more. It has industry-specific templates ready to build with.

Then provide key information like your job title, responsibilities, and achievements to Kickresume’s AI, and watch it take care of all the points mentioned above.

Now just sending the resume is not going to land you a job, YOU need to be the physical version of your resume. If you have applied for a tech role at a tech company well then you need to be able to back up what ever it is you have said on your resume, this usually leads to a code test live. Be prepared and know what skills that the job you are applying for requires.

If you take the business of getting better interviews that lead to better jobs seriously you will get more shots at these better jobs. But it starts with the resume. Good luck.
