Gameplay Review GTA V

The most successful open-world game ever! I’ve been playing this game since 2013. I’ve played through the full game 8 times and it doesn’t get old, every time you play you see new things, take a different path and fall back in love with the game like it was day 1 of playing it. At least I do when I play this game.

The gameplay allows you the freedom to explore, customise and take in the sheer ambition of a real open-world game.

GTA V Story Mode

The story is ambitious and thoroughly enjoyable. The core story is broken into 4 playable parts.

• Part 1 is the prologue with Michael and Trevor as playable characters
• Part 2 is Franklin’s story and viewpoint
• Part 3 is Michael’s story and viewpoint
• Part 4 is Trevor’s story and viewpoint

If you want to deviate from the story you have options. Some story modes require you to be in close proximity to the event. If you want free roam then you have a huge map to explore.

The scenery takes you through a range of environments from thick city jungle to the warm feels of the Nevada desert.

In between jobs and missions, you can take on side tasks, and quests and embark on collectible mini-missions if you want to. I like to explore the map and clear the map fog to reveal the entire playable map. This will lead you to some truly memorable places that are truly awe-inspiring.

Playable Characters

You get to play with 3 main characters in the main story mode. Each has their own special abilities and primary vehicles.

Franklin

Franklin is the street-level hustler who is making his way up the food chain. When we get introduced to him in the game he’s boosting a car for repossession. Franklin

Franklin has 2 Primary vehicles. The first looks like a and the second is a repossessed Green motorcycle.

Michael De Santa

Michael is a retired robber who is under the witness protection program in an expensive house in Vinewood Hills. Michael has a family he is looking after and has settled into retirement like I only wish I could do.

Michael’s Primary Vehicle looks like an Audi, he will sometimes drive his wife’s car.

Trevor Phillips

Trevor is the wildcard in the group, losing his mind in a moment’s notice, the unclean redneck living in the desert. He provides both brutal and hilarious storylines and is really out there. His special ability is Rage mode where he can deal extra damage while Rage mode engaged.

Trevor’s Primary Vehicle looks like a Jeep Wrangler without the roof.

• International Airport – not playable but you do access the airport and flights in-game

Grand Theft Auto Online Mode – Online Mode

Once you finish the main story you have a lot of money in your account if you successfully complete the final heist. Once you buy all the ammo, clothing and real estate that you could ever need you should still have millions left in your bank account.

There may be some side mission quests that still need to be cleaned up if you have the energy and attention span to finish the game 100%. If you don’t then moving over to Grand Theft Auto Online is going to be a shot of adrenaline to your eyeballs. This play mode moves fast, expect to be smoked by more levelled-up players at a moment’s notice.

Criminal Empire Businesses Mode

You get to choose a criminal empire to build, the choices are kept within 4 core types with each one having some mini niche types within them.

The Contract with Dr Dre

The contract sees you become an enforcer of types chasing down some unreleased material for the legendary Dr Dre.
